Alberta Ferretti started her carrier with a small fashion boutique called “Jolly” in 1968 and soon after began designing her own collections. In 1973 Alberta Ferretti, in co-operation with her brother, founded the fashion production concern Aeffe. Alberta Ferretti became known for her flowing, light and feminine designs and soon started to present her fashion at Milan Fashion Week where she started to gain broad popularity, especially amongst female Hollywood stars such as Scarlett Johansson. Alberta Ferretti is famous for her toga-inspired designs and her use of light fabrics, which has given her the name of the “Queen of Chiffon”. She also played a major role in the “Made in Italy” movement.
